Chocolate covered coffee beans are confections made by coating roasted coffee beans in either dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate. Coffee and cacao beans both have a certain "earthy" flavor to them. This terroir, as the French call it, naturally makes them complementary as a culinary delight.
Coffee beans have an intense, bitter flavor that's only slightly balanced by the sweetness of the chocolate. This can make them overwhelming for non-coffee-drinkers.
Since their main ingredient is coffee beans, they're very high in caffeine, and, like all chocolate products, they're rich in saturated fat.
However, they also contain antioxidants and certain vitamins that may be beneficial when eaten in moderation.
